When the clock struck 12pm noon today, channelnewsasia and several American tv stations told the public the Barack Obama won the keys to White House. It was indeed history in the making. Obama did not win by a margin, but it was a landslide victory. 333 electro votes to McCain's 156. It was more than twice of what McCain got.
Obama will be sworn in to the white house on 20thJanuary 2009 and become the FIRST African American president and of course, the youngest president of all time.
I am not an expert in the area, but i will voice out some of my opinions.

My point of view on why Obama won was because of his amazing speeches. After John Kerry lost to Bushy in the 2004, in the democratic convention, Obama said a speech which made him shot to fame from an unknown before 2004. That was just the pathway. I remembered watching some speeches he made in Florida while campaigning for democratic presidential candidate against Hillary Clinton. He was direct, straight to the point and most importantly TRUE. I felt his sincerity, wanting to CHANGE America. His final speech the day before left me speechless. He said, " America, I have 2 words for you. Two days. Two days. Its two days to changing America. Its two days to...." He really is a powerful speaker.

However, i must say that his presidency will be a difficult one. Given the current Wall street downfall and the global financial crisis, Obama will have to take an extra step to solve the problem. Giving the Iraqi war and the North Korea issue to take from stupid bushy who left so many Americans dead from war, Obama will need to protect his people. I dun really know whether 4 years is enough, but i just hope that if Obama does well in the oval office, he can continue his term for another 4 more years like what Bill Clinton and George W Bush did ( although i still dun understand how John Kerry, the more capable one, lost to George Bush.... Just because of that tiny margin in Ohio..) . Lets pray and hope for the best.

Btw, Obama was a senator was he? In Venice, the senate manages Sea voyages, But does a senator do the same job as the Senate?
