16 full days of camping before the TV. This is really one of the best olympics in the history of mankind. The IOC president said that the Sydney Olympics was the best in 2004. He said Beijing Olympics was simply extravagant. Beijing is the name that will go down in history! WHAT A GREAT OLYMPICS! I SALUTE BEIJING.I salute Li Ning for his extravagant feat in lighting the olympics main torch!
Both the opening and closing ceremony made the world go wild. *notice how many times im gonna say best* . Probably the best opening ceremony ever.Great way of starting the ceremony with the thousands of volunteers lighting specific lights and counting down. Then came the spectacular performances which trace down to 5000 years of chinese history. From the invention of the first written form of language to the invention on boats, China had indeed showed the world what she is capable of. For the first time, China toped the medal tally with 51 gold medals, one of the only 4 countries that had achieve this feat. ( USA, Soviet Union and the united countries i think ) all before the 1992 Barcelona Games.
In this very olympic games, 16 days of sports, the world had seen the rise of 2 new stars. Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt. Michael Phelps broke 7 world records and 1 olympic record to become the first olympian to ever get 8 gold medals after Mark Spitz got 7 in 1960 something... dunno lol. Usain Bolt and his team smashed the 4x100m relay by 0.3s , breaking a 12 year old record. He also set world records in 100m and 200m sprint. What an achievement by these 2 young men. Their names will definitely go down the history books.
Then came the closing ceremony! Great indeed, I was stunned once again. With stars like Rain(yes tiffy ur favourite) , Wang li hong, Stephanie sun, Karen mok, Rong zu er, Andy Lau, Jacky Chan and so on. The drama they used in putting out the fire was kinda special lol.
